Warning: I'm gonna kinda ramble.

As stated in my last journal, my swarovski cherry blossom tree was selected as a finalist in the 2009 Fire Mountain Gems and Beads Contest. For the next round, I had to send it to their headquarters in Oregon... which I did. The box weighed 6.5 pounds and I wrapped it very very carefully with bubble wrap and tons of packing peanuts. I was really nervous about it traveling over 2000 miles by UPS mainly because of the really heavy rock that they tree is mounted on. It's glued down to the wooden base with a whole tube of 2-part epoxy, but the bottom of the rock is not a flat service, so it's a matter of making sure there's enough contact points between the glue on the rock and the glue on the base. The tree arrived in Oregon on Tuesday and I sent an email to the companies customer service asking if they could just reassure me that the piece arrived safely. I got a reply back saying that yes, it arrived in perfect condition. Yay! From this point on, I'm not worried about the contest. I have a lot of faith in my tree. I know it's done well and that now it's up to personal taste. I'm just glad that it's not broken so that it can actually be judged! I wish I could tell you when I'll find out the results, but I have no idea. I'll let you know when I know!

I know most of you were completely bored by this entry, but omg I was stressed out by the thought of my tree arriving in Oregon in lots of horrible pieces.
