oh my god. This was the most painful french-beading project I've done. Holy cow. All the twisting and poking... my fingertips are so torn up! I think it was worth it, though. The tree looks really neat. I don't think the picture does it justice.
I used over 300 feet of dark green floral wire and thousands of tiny seed beads to create this. The entire arrangement weighs about 8.5 pounds, and it took about 12 hours to complete it.
I'm not sure that I'd say it was really detailed... the wire just lends itself to this kind of tree really well because of how it creates such a gnarled look.
I need to update the picture. I reshaped it (gotta love wire) and now it looks even better! This wasn't that difficult to make, but if you want to make one, be prepared to spend many many hours measuring, cutting, twisting, and getting poked and cut by wire. Still, this is my fav piece so far, I think. It really has a cool, modern asian look.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
