My 1st Pixel Art: Fish Tank

At the moment, my usual program, PSP, is not available to me, so I'm not doing photo manips like I enjoy doing. So, I decided to try my hand at pixel art, since it's an art that doesn't need a complicated program. I read a bunch of tutorials this morning and downloaded "GraphicsGale," recommended by one of the sites. Then I just browsed a bunch of pixel art to get a feel for it, and now I'm trying everything out to see how it works together.

I chose to start with a fish tank because I really love my boyfriend's saltwater tank, so this was something that I could really relate to. Because of that, my first pixel art attempt is dedicated to Chris (my bf).

Any help and tips you can offer me to help me improve in this would be greatly appreciated. How well did I do for my first time? What could I try to improve on next time? Any suggestions for what I should attempt to create next time?
