I'm totally still alive, and doing well! But... you won't see me active again for who knows how long. Some updates:
My Crohn's Disease is still in remission! So hurray! I love not being sick.
I just started grad school! The past year has been a whirlwind of deciding what to do, applying to schools, getting accepted to the school I wanted, and now staring school again after 10 years away. I'm seeking my master's of social work degree, with an emphasis on mental health and youth.
I left my job as a nanny after being with the family for 7 years. It was tough, but the hours they needed wouldn't work with my schooling. We left on awesome terms, and we're still in touch and plan on meeting up for dinner once a month.
I do still need to work full-time so that I can pay for my food and rent and stuffs. I found a job at a residential treatment program for adolescent boys with sex-related mental and behavioral problems. I've been there a few weeks now and I love it! It's challenging, but super rewarding.
I've been in a new apartment for about a month now. I love it so much. It's right across the street from a beautiful historic park, and it's in an almost 100 year old building. So much character!
I've lost 30 pounds so far this year! I'm getting my sexy back and I'm stronger than ever!
Other than that, life is pretty much the same. Drew and I have been together for 11 years now, and lived together for 9. We're adjusting to my new school/work schedule. I don't really see him during the week because I work evenings. I'm waking up when he's leaving for work, I leave before he gets home, and I get home after he's asleep. So that's different. But he's totally supportive, so I'm sure we'll make it work.
<3 to you all!

Guess what! I'm still alive!
I just realized that I haven't been back her in a long, long time. And I haven't updated my journal in over a year! Here's a summary of my life during that time.
:bulletblue: I got really sick. Crohn's Disease was kicking my ass. Big time. My life all but came to a stand-still. I stopped beading and teaching classes, I stopped running, and I slept with a heating pad on my belly practically every night for MONTHS. I tried going gluten free. I got worse. I tried going lactose-free. I got worse. At the point, I was struggling to eat pretty much anything. So I went to my GI, who switched my meds. We waited for that to help, but it didn't
Back from Vacation... and other stuff!
Hi all!
I'm moved into my new apartment! Actually, I've officially been moved for like, 4 weeks? I think. But I've only felt really settled for the last few. So close enough. I'm moved! I love the new place. It's smaller, but I love that. It's in a quieter area, with lots more trees and nature and stuff.
Also, last week I was at Niagara Falls, Canada with my mom! It was amazing and inspiring, and I was so happy to be sharing all of that with my mom, who I adore. I'll upload some of my photos from the trip soon!
Now I need to really, seriously get back to beading. Except not too seriously. I'm taking off a quarter from teachin
Lots of changes...
The last 30 days or so have been strange- busy, stressful, exciting, and exhausting. A lot has been happening. Here's the highlights:
:bulletblue:I'm moving! Drew and I have lived at our current apartment complex for a bit over 5 years now, and our current lease is up at the end of the year. But we've been thinking about moving for a while now, mainly because we'd like to pay less and I'd like to be closer to my work (I drive 30 minutes each way to my job right now). So we started looking, and we spent many weekends checking places out and talking through all our options. An apartment came open at our #1 choice, and we decided that it was
Well hello there...
May 9th was my 11th dAnniversary! Hooray! I seriously can't believe I've been here so long. Can you? Last year I posted a lot about my time on dA and what it means to me, so this year, I'll just skip all that. I'm just happy to still be meeting wonderful people here on dA. I don't see myself leaving anytime soon. :)
Lots of things going on in my life!
:bulletblue:I'm in physical therapy now! I haven't been able to run for a couple of months now. It's been horrible. :( I had tendonitis in my left achilles tendon, then my right, and then my right knee started hurting pretty bad too, and my right calf muscle has been aching as well.
